There's no place like home, there's no place like home...

Well good morning! I totally feel like I am Dorothy returning from the Land of Oz. But I am home at last (no red shoes to get me here, but my silver sports car did the trick!).

First let me say thank you soooooo very much for all your prayers, well wishes and concern for my friend, her son and her family. I personally believe in the power of prayer... and it was totally felt! So I just can not thank you all enough.

What you all want to know I am sure - Nick is doing well!!! As I told you before he had Neuro Surgery on Sunday about 4 pm... they had to replace the shunt that was installed when he was 5 months old. Surgery went well - but then on Monday night we had a scare as his temp spiked up to 102.6. My friend left me at her house with the baby and her other son about midnight and headed up to the hospital. (Yep this was the first time I had had the baby through the night and the first time I had to get the 8 year old up and ready and to school on time!)

They were finally able to get his temp under control and all seems well. So well in fact he came home yesterday!!! He was having some mild headaches and he will not be able to go to school for about a week at least - but so far everything seems well!!!

I tell you - to see him running around and to talk to him yesterday - without the visual reminders, like the stitches in his head, you would never realize the boy had BRAIN surgery four days ago!!

My friend's mother flew in yesterday as well to help out - so I took that as my cue to get the heck out of the way!!! And home I came! But man I am BEAT!!!!!

For the person who up until two weeks ago had NEVER changed a diaper or made a bottle, I totally took responsibility of the baby for the past few days.... and let me tell you (as I am sure you all probably know) - but that is WORK!!!!

I just don't think I have the mothering gene!!!! LOL Don't get me wrong I love those kids! And I finally got over the "being scared, I am going to break her, oh I can't let her cry"... and I got it done! But for someone who has never had a child, never had brothers or sisters and who has never been around babies period - well, it was a little overwhelming.

But I got through it - and I know now - I can do it!!!! (Don't want to, but can!!!) LOL

I have to confess that I did tell hubby that when he comes home - there will be every kind of "protection" that can be used in place cause I don't think I want a baby!!! Bahahahaha!!!!

So thanks again.... thank you for your well wishs, prayers and concerns. Please give me a few days to catch up and catch my breath and hopefully I will be able to get back on track soon. I owe you my readers a "TRF" download and I plan to get that out really soon!!!

I also have a few announcements and a few other things to share in the next few days!!!

Before I go here is a photo that I took of Nick and his little sister just a week before the whole brain surgery scare! Thought you might like to see the person you have been praying for!

Until next time!

Wow, he looks so young to have been through all that. Enjoy settling back in at home. Thank you for the update.

Isn't God good?! The power of prayer is a mighty thing. I'm so glad he is home and recovering nicely.

PTL!!!!
Will continue prayers for him and his family.
You did a great thing !!!!
We have two grand daughters.
One turned 2 yesterday and the baby is four months old.
We took care of them a few weeks ago for 4 hours.
I am still recuperating.
If you set up a "Protection" fund, let us know.
I hear ya!!!!
