Lovely weather......

We are having really lovely weather . I mean the temperature is in the high 80's - the humidity - well it is high - but it is ALWAYS high in South GA - and the wind is lightly blowing...... Just lovely - for RIGHT NOW!!!

Yep ladies and gentlemen - that is three storms a brewing and heading our way......

You have Hurricane Hanna, Soon to be Hurricane Ike - and let me introduce our newest player - TS Storm (soon to be hurricane) Josephine!

Needless to say - I think I have become storm obsess! LOL But hey with three possible hurricanes knocking on my door - I feel I have a right to be!!!

So here at the McDonald resident - we are making our plan, getting ready and waiting and watching!!!

I'll keep you posted on how it goes!!!

Until Next Time!

Cya~

PS - For the next few days - I think I will play a little Hurricane Trivia for you- and for the first person to answer the question correctly (by leaving a comment in the comment section) - you get to choose a file from Paperthreads (not to include collections) or an item from Beloved Keepsakes (not to include paper) for free as your prize!!!

Hurricanes are named to allow easy exchange of detailed storm info between hundreds of widely scattered stations, coastal bases, and ships at sea. The naming of the storms comes from a list that has one name for each letter of the alphabet EXCEPT these FIVE letters.... What five letters are not used in naming hurricanes???

Good Luck!!!

Don't you just love hurricane season? I'm in the Tampa, FL, area so I understand the waiting part! Storms start with every letter except Q, U, X, Y, Z. I would have liked to see them be creative and come up with names using those letters each year :)

QUXYZ

I know I am late but it was fun trivy..
stay safe...

Lori,
I hope our beloved Savannah and Tybee Island make it through the storms intact...and that you and yours are safe.

My answer...letters Q, U, X, Y, and Z are not used because there are few common names starting with these letters.

Hi Lori, guess those letters have to be Q,U,X,Y &Z.. we don't get many hurricanes in UK, but we have bad weather for us just at the moment, rain, high winds BUT not as bad as your TS... saw on the news that New Orleans didn't get it as bad as they thought. Those folks have had a rough time!! Stay safe and dry

I know I'm late, but Q,U,X,Y & Z. When I was a teenager (and stupid) the eye of Hurricane Celia came over where I lived. When the wind stopped, my brother and I sneaked out of the house, got in a pickup and drove around for about 12 minutes. Power lines down, trees down, stuff blown all over - we barely made it home and in the house before the wind started again. I still cannot believe we did something so very, very dangerous. My parents did not know about it till later.
