Deals, Deals and More Deals!!!

I just love love love a deal!!! Don't you?!?!?  Especially in this economy!! So let me tell you the past two days have been some deal making days!!!

To start off with, Hubby's Jeep needed new tire, a front brake job and an alignment.  Talk about EXPENSIVE!!!  Since moving to the Atlanta area, we lost our awesome auto mechanic and I had to shop around for a new one!  So off I went.  I ended up at the local Firestone place since they are all an all in one type of place.  I really liked the asst. manager and he didn't treat me like I was stupid!  (You know sometimes as a women, auto guys like to think that you don't know anything about cars - and in my case, since hubby is gone more than he is home, and my dad said he wasn't going to raise a sissy girl - I know quite a bit about cars!!!)

Anyway - I ended up at the Firestone place where they gave me a GREAT deal on four 60,000 mile all season tires - and since I was buying all four tire - they gave me the alignment for free!! ($79.99 savings).  Well I am not afraid to try and save some $$$, so I asked if they gave military discounts.  He said - hmmmm let me see what I can do!  He then proceeded to give me 10% off the tires (a savings of $47.20).  He then gave me 10% off the brake job (another $15.30 off) and then he gave me a $25 rebate to mail in!!!!  Thus a total savings of $167.49!!!!  AWESOME!!!

Then I went to the grocery store!  Now I have to admit I have been watching the TLC's "Extreme Couponing" show.... Now I hope I am never like those people!! To me they are hoarders by a different name (I mean really,  who needs 41 years worth of toilet paper in storage?!?!?)  Anyway, I have started a coupon binder and have made some rules for myself (like I am only going to buy what I want or need, I will not buy something just because it is a good deal - yeah it may only be 12 cents, but that is 12 cents I didn't need to spend on something I will not ever use)....

Thus - my goal is just to save some money on things I am going to be buying regardless.  Before my "Kroger Plus Card" and before my coupons my total was $340.72.  After all my ecoupons that I loaded to my discount card, after my "store" savings and after my coupons my total grocery bill was $267.60 (now please understand this is two to three weeks worth of groceries for us, including a ham, a roast, chicken, steak, hamburger meat, bacon and other meats!) That is a total savings of $73.12!!!!

All in all, not a bad day!!!

Then today, I ran over to Publix because they had Diet Coke on sale - and I can't live without my Diet Coke.  (Now this one product that I do stock pile and I never run out of - right Karen?!?!  Bahahahaha!!)... While I was there I decided to check out their small clearance table - low and behold I found "Avery Easy Peel Labels".  Now I use these a lot in my Beloved Keepsakes business.  Normally I pay 7.97 a pack for these at Walmart.  I found three packs on the clearance rack for $2.88 a pack!  But when I got the register - they rang up for $3.85.  When I pointed it out to the cashier - she corrected the price and I got a pack of three for $5.76!!!!  That is a savings of $18.15!!!!

But wait - that's not all... also on the clearance rack there was a Petmate Electronic Pet feeder.

Hubby and I were just talking the other day that it might be good to get one of these for the puppies when we think we are going to be gone most of the day.  Well there wasn't a price on it so I took it up to the counter and asked the customer service person if she could do a price check for me.  Well it didn't come up in the system.  So she called the store manager who took it in the back and looked it up in the computer - Now normally these sell for anywhere between $59.99 and $69.99 (retail is $89.99).... he came back and told me it was only $3.99!!! SCORE!!!!!  That was a savings of $62.14 (if you use the Amazon price) Cha Ching!!!

So in two days I have saved a total of $320.90!!!!  I am sooooo super excited!!!!

So how about you??? What has been your best deal in the past few days?? Leave me a comment - I would love to hear about it!!!  And hey - Happy Shopping!!!
Until Next Time

Holy crap! Your going to jail for that steal on the dog feeder. Awesome deals shopping! I like the only what I need or will use thing too.

I have not been shopping betting ready to tear up my office/scrap room. Need to change for better work space.

Good job on using coupons. I have been trying to use coupons too and ther is a cool website that kind of helps. It is www.hip2save.com. If you have a minute to check it out it is cool. She often makes me aware of instore specials and pairs them with coupons from the web or from the newspaper. It makes couponing easier I think.

Happy Saving,
Nikki
