World Card Making Day Showcase by...

VDBC and "The More Team"!

Can you believe it is "World Card Making" Day?!?!?  Like who knew?!!??  Now for me, I am a pure 110% scrapbooker and not so much a card maker.....  Don't get me wrong - I can spend hours and hours (much to hubby's dismay) in the card shop looking at cards and giggling.  And I LOVE getting cards in the mail... but when it comes to making them.... well I am just plain out lacking!!!

That doesn't mean that I don't get request - ALL THE TIME - for you my wonderful customers asking me to make cards.... cause I do.... but card making just doesn't seem to be my thing.  And let me just say - when I do make cards - they tend to be a little less serious than most folks cards.....

For example my "Uplifting Card"....

I thought this card was a great way  to tell a friend how much of a "supports" she is to you!!!  Bahahaaha!!!

And then of course there is the "I'm Behind You" Card I designed...

I mean who doesn't like to hear how much you are behind them?!?!?!

(If you would like to purchase either of these card designs just click on the photo and it will take you straight to the store so you  can purchase!!!)

I guess my take on cards is that they don't always have to be soooo serious!  Laughter is best kind of medicine and hey if I can make someone smile even for just an instant - It was worth it!

So make time today on "World Card Making Day" to lift someones spirits or tell them you are behind them 110%!

And if you want to see some more AWESOME cards - just hop on over to these fellow VDBC More Team designers and friends and see what they have to share!

Hope you have a GREAT weekend!

Until Next Time!

Guess what season it REALLY is??

Ahhh - the temperature is dropping , the leaves are changing colors... it must be fall, right?!?!!?  NOT!!!

Here at the McDonald household it is "Hunting Season"!!!

And of course you have to get ready for hunting season and make sure all your equipment is working right?  OH and there is no better place to do that than in the back yard!  Right!?!?!

Well that is what my hubby seems to thinks!!!!

So when I went out the back door the other day looking for my dog... this is what I found!  Bahahaha!!! (You can click on all photos to get a bigger view)

Of course you have to make sure everything is hooked up correctly...

And then you start to actually climb the tree....

And then you get high enough that no one or nothing can see you.....  right?!?!  (Notice my puppy was guarding the scene!!! Trader!!!)

Hope you have a GREAT day.... make sure you come back tomorrow for a special Saturday edition of the Beloved Keepsakes Blog.  I mean I can't let "National Card Making" day go by without sharing something?!?!  RIGHT???

Until Next Time!

Ground Hog Day....

According to Wikipedia (man, have I ever told you I LOVE LOVE LOVE Wikipedia?!?!)

The groundhog (Marmota monax), also known as a woodchuck, whistle-pig, or in some areas as a land-beaver, is a rodent of the family Sciuridae, belonging to the group of large ground squirrels known as marmots.

I have never actually seen a groundhog or a woodchuck (Hmmmm but as a child I did use to ask "How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood!"  Bahahaha)....  well I had never seen one until I moved here!!!

I mean honestly the only thing I have ever known about Groundhogs was that there is a holiday in February where if the groundhog sees his shadow then there is going to be six more weeks of winter weather!!!

And then.... and then we moved here!!!!

See up here in the north Atlanta area it is pretty hilly.  Yes we actually have hills and EVEN mountains up here!!! LOL  Well right down the road from where we live there is a few hills that the road was cut through.  So you have a road and on the side of the road is a side of a hill.  On these hill there is a ton of Kudzu growing.  (Now if you have ever been to the south you know what Kudzu is... but if you haven't, Kudzu is a vine that grows RAMPART!!! I mean it grows crazy fast.  They say if conditions are right Kudzu can grow 7 feet a week!! That is a foot a day!!!)

Anyway I drive past these hills almost every time I  leave my house (As I have to go down this road to get to the main part of town).  When we moved here in the winter the kudzu was dead so it was just the side of hills.... as the weather warmed up and the kudzu started to grow, I started noticing these "holes" in the ground..... with in a few weeks I start noticing the kind of large furry animals scurrying around.....

And low and behold - they were GROUNDHOGS!!!!  (You can click on the photos for a larger view!)

Now every time I drive down the road I am always searching for the groundhogs!!!  So this weekend my wonderful hubby suggested I  grab the camera and off groundhog hunting we went!!!

As the weather starts to change I know the groundhogs will go into hibernation soon, but until they do I have to tell you it is aways a joy to spot them!

Hope you enjoyed spotting them too (even if it was just here on my blog!!!)

Until Next Time!
