Another one down...

So I have finished up yet another project for my home!!! How exciting!!!! I posted a few days ago the altered tin barn star that I had seen in "Scrapbooking Etc." and how I wanted to make one to go over my fireplace.....

Well I researched tin stars - and I mean I looked every where local and on the net.... and I finally located some that I didn't mind the price too much... so I purchased two of them. One was 24" big and the other was 18". I was thinking I would do one for myself and then give the other away as a gift....

Well the stars got here and when I mock hung the large one over my fireplace - it seemed - well kind of small. My friend Susan was like why don't you use the big one in the center and place some smaller ones around it.... So that is what I decided to do!!!

I completely finished up both stars that I had already purchased - and then I ordered another 18" star that I plan to put on the other side of the large one... I have all the photos and paper cut out so all I have to do is mod podge them on when it the new star gets here.....

I made the large star out of all black and white photos of me and my hubby! The smaller star (the one that is finished) is of us and our family members... My parents, Andrew's parents, his kids, our puppy, etc.... and the other star that I will have to finish up is photos of us and our close friends, the Emery's and also a photo of Andrew and Chaplain Fisher....

I am soooo happy with the way they turned out... between painting the wall green (for those that remember my flooding experience) and waiting for the perfect thing to go over the fireplace (I have lived here almost three years with nothing over it)!!!! I can not be more pleased!!

Now I did show the large star to hubby on the webcam and he didn't seem too impressed... I am hoping that he will feel different when he gets home and actually sees them on the wall.... both my neighbors (one on each side) absolutely loved them.... so?!?!?

All the scrapbooking paper used was Basic Grey (A hodge podge of the different lines in the BG collection) and I used some gold "Say it with Crystals" from Prima on the large star. What you can't tell from the photos is that when I turn on the eyeball light above the fireplace it makes the crystals on the large star sparkle!!!!

So with out further ado.... Here are some photos!!!

Ok so here is the long shot of the green wall - now just imagine that the other star will be hanging on the left hand side... I have even hammered in the nail for it already!!! LOL

Then here is a close up:

Here is a close up of the large star:

And finally a close up of the small star that is complete....

Once I get the other small star in the mail and get it completed I will post a photo of all of them hanging on the wall!!!

Thanks for looking!! I would love to hear what you think...

Until Next Time!
