Happy Thursday!

I am so sorry I missed yesterday's blogging time. It was a crazy crazy day! Hubby was here, hubby was gone.... I had three Custom Made Photo Stars to get out.... and then.... well then there was a million and one other things that I needed to do as well....... please please forgive me! I know how cranky ya'll can get if I don't blog!!! Bahahaha!!!

Now - let me tell you - the movie "The Secret Life of Bee's" was amazingly good! I read the book years ago - so long ago in fact that I had forgotten about a few things until I saw the movie - but let me go ahead and prepare you now - you NEED to take a box of tissues!!!! Oh my goodness - there was a few time in this movie all you could hear was the women watching it trying not to weep!!! I tell you - this movie held true to the book and the actresses where amazing!!! It was a great great movie!!! (Just don't forget those tissues!!)

I have been doing some online shopping in preparation for Christmas - and man oh man - some days I just LOVE ebay!!!! Yesterday I got hubby a Christmas present (for the record - he doesn't actually READ my blog unless I make him - sad isn't!!! LOL).... anyway - I got him a present that RETAILED for $349.99

I had been searching for the best deal on said item - and I had found it for $282.22 this was with tax and shipping.... well then I went to ebay.... and there was several of said items (I don't want to say WHAT in case he does read my blog!!!) by a very very reputable power seller. (By power seller I mean I know the company and they have over 70,000 reviews with a 98.3 positive rating!)

Anyway - I placed my bid on one of said items and I won it!!! All said and done (with shipping, insurance and taxes) I paid $183.99 - That's a $166 off the retail price and that is $98.23 cents cheaper than I found it ANYWHERE else!!!!! Oh I am soooo doing the happy dance!!!

And as far as Christmas goes - I am one present closer to being done!!! Whooo Hooooo!!! And that makes me even happier!!!

Ok - speaking of Christmas - I need to finish up some of my major gifts... but before I do - I need to get these new files up in the store! I am determined to get those done today!!!! So I am off to convert and write text documents!

Hope you have a GREAT day!

Until Next Time!

Please thank a Vet today....

And no I DON'T mean the person who takes care of your pets!!!! LOL

Veterans Day gives Americans the opportunity to celebrate the bravery and sacrifice of all U.S. veterans. However, most Americans confuse this holiday with Memorial Day, reports the Department of Veterans Affairs.

What's more, some Americans don't know why we commemorate our Veterans on Nov.11. It's imperative that all Americans know the history of Veterans Day so that we can honor our former service members properly.

A Brief History of Veterans Day - Veterans Day, formerly known as Armistice Day, was originally set as a U.S. legal holiday to honor the end of World War I, which officially took place on November 11, 1918. In legislation that was passed in 1938, November 11 was "dedicated to the cause of world peace and to be hereafter celebrated and known as 'Armistice Day.'" As such, this new legal holiday honored World War I veterans.

In 1954, after having been through both World War II and the Korean War, the 83rd U.S. Congress -- at the urging of the veterans service organizations -- amended the Act of 1938 by striking out the word "Armistice" and inserting the word "Veterans." With the approval of this legislation on June 1, 1954, Nov. 11 became a day to honor American veterans of all wars.

In 1968, the Uniforms Holiday Bill ensured three-day weekends for federal employees by celebrating four national holidays on Mondays: Washington's Birthday, Memorial Day, Veterans Day, and Columbus Day. Under this bill, Veterans Day was moved to the last Monday of October. Many states did not agree with this decision and continued to celebrate the holiday on its original date. The first Veterans Day under the new law was observed with much confusion on Oct. 25, 1971.

Finally on September 20, 1975, President Gerald R. Ford signed a law which returned the annual observance of Veterans Day to its original date of Nov. 11, beginning in 1978. Since then, the Veterans Day holiday has been observed on Nov. 11.

So tell me do you know the difference between Veterans Day and Memorial Day?? Memorial Day honors service members who died in service to their country or as a result of injuries incurred during battle. Deceased veterans are also remembered on Veterans Day but the day is set aside to thank and honor living veterans who served honorably in the military - in wartime or peacetime.

So the bottom line... please take time today to thank a veteran of our armed forces.... we enjoy the privileges of living in the USA due to the fact these people and their families sacrifice for us and our country!

To my dear husband and all the veterans out there - no matter what branch of service you have served or are still serving..... I thank you! I thank you from the bottom of my heart - and I am soooo very proud of all of you! God bless and God Speed!

Until Next Time!

Monday Monday.....

Oh what a day..... Wheew.... I think I need to rest from my weekend! How about you???

I spent the whole entire weekend working on a HUGE Christmas gift project for my hubby!!! If you are a member of Paperthreads or of Chris's forum - then you can go see it there.... otherwise you will just have to wait - cause I can't risk posting about it here on my blog!!!
I love Christmas time... I have been doing some online shopping.... and you all know how much I LOVE LOVE LOVE Shopping!!!

Later today I am meeting up with two of my neighbors for dinner and a movie!!! Yummmy.... we are going to have dinner at one of my favorite Japanese restaurants and then we are off to see......

Yep "The Secret Life of Bees". I really liked this book so I hope that the movie does it justice!

Speaking of books.... I am still looking for some good ones to read! I just got done with "Water for Elephant's" and I have to say it was pretty darn good! I have looked at the back of that book at least a dozen times and though - I really could care less about the life of someone in the circus! But my neighbor down the road said she loved it - so I decided to give it a try - and dang it was good!!!

Ok - I have some star orders to get filled so I better get off here!

Hope you have a GREAT Monday!

Until Next Time!
