Once again, I ask that you please pray...

Defense officials say two Georgia National Guard soldiers were killed in action while serving in Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan Tuesday.

According to the Department of Defense, Sgt. Brock Henry Chavers Sr., 25, of Statesboro, and Spc. Isaac Lee Johnson Jr., 24, of Columbus, died from injuries from an improvised explosive device (IED).

Chavers was assigned to Americus’ Company D, 2nd Battalion, 121st Infantry, and Johnson to Rome’s Troop A, 1st Battalion, 108th Reconnaissance, Surveillance and Target Acquisition (RSTA) Squadron.

“This past weekend, as hundreds of millions of Americans celebrated our nation’s independence, our brave sons and daughters were halfway around the world still protecting that freedom. We learned today of the tragic loss of Georgia Guardsmen Sgt. Brock Chavers Sr. and Spc. Isaac Johnson Jr., yesterday in Afghanistan,“ said Governor Sonny Perdue in a statement.

“The deaths of Sgt. Brock Henry Chavers Sr. and Spc. Isaac Lee Johnson Jr. are a devastating loss for the nation, the state, the Georgia Guard and most of all, the families of these fine men,“ said Maj. Gen. William T. Nesbitt, Georgia’s Adjutant General.

“They gave their lives in defense of freedom. The entire Georgia National Guard family grieves with the Chavers and Johnson families at this tragic news,“ said Nesbitt.

Finally....

Wheew!!! I am finally up and running on my new "pink" laptop! Whoo Hooo!! And not only am I up and running - but I have all my backups completed and I have them scheduled to make sure that EVERY week I have a new backup file!! So maybe, just maybe I won't ever lose everything again!!!

Other than that - I am getting ready for my garage sale! I have sooo much "junk" that I am trying to purge! Now I have to admit it is much much much easier to get rid of stuff when hubby isn't here!! LOL

Hmm - I went to water aerobics yesterday (that was the second time this week) and boy or boy am I sore today! Now I though that going to do all this working out I would start sleeping better, but so far that isn't the case - nor have I lost any more weight... I am at 183.5 - meaning that my total lost so far is 30.5 lbs.

And last but not least - so you know that I am not totally slacking - I did upload file number 18 to the Scrapbooking, Cards and More membership today!

I thought it turned out pretty cute!!! And remember if you haven't joined yet - you only have about a week left to do so!!!

Hope you all have a great Thursday!

Until Next Time!

Swimming in Fonts...

Man, let me tell you... I have sooo sooo soo learned the value of backing up! And backing up your backup and heck even backing up your backup to your backup!!! LOL

And when I talk about backing up - I mean backing up EVERYTHING!!! It isn't bad enough that I lost a lot of stuff (cause I didn't back up everything!!!). But trying to recreate the things I lost.... for example: email addresses, mailing addresses, birthday's, all my clip art that I had collected, files in progress, all my favorite Internet sites! All that stuff - well it is bad that I lost all that stuff, but man....

ALL MY FONTS!!!!

For those of you that know me - you know I am a font junkie! Yes I will admit it - I love love love fonts!!! But here is the thing - I didn't collect just "any" font. Oh no - all 35,000+ fonts that I had were all divided into one of two categories. They were either for printable publications or they were cuttable fonts. I mean I can look at a font and 9 out of 10 times tell you if a font is going to cut with my machine or not. And on the same note - I can look at a font and tell you if it is going to be readable in a publication or on a scrapbooking page. If it isn't either of these - I don't need/want it!

So for the past few days I have been "sorting" through fonts! Lucky for me - I remember most of my favorite font sites. And REALLY lucky for me - one of my customers and Internet friend's Karen sent me two disks of nothing but fonts (THANKS KAREN!!!). So that is making it much easier to obtain my fonts. But the sorting - sheesh.... the sorting!!! It is too much!!!

But here is the kicker - I can't design titles and die cuts without fonts! And I need lots of fonts to chose the perfect one for my title.... so I am stuck work wise until I rebuild my font file to at least some extent!

Thus the lesson for today - BACK UP EVERYTHING!!!!

And speaking of backing up and computers - my new computer is on the Fed Ex truck and is suppose to be delivered TODAY!!! Whoo Hooo!!! I am very excited -but at the same time I dreading re-installing EVERYTHING yet again! Man... I can't imagine life without computers - but sometimes I think I would have more time for a life if I didn't have one!!! Bahahaha!

Off to sort! Hope you have a GREAT day - and hey - go back up your computer!!!

Manic Monday...

That is how my Monday is going!! And yours?? I hope you all had a GREAT 4th of July and were able to spend time with your family and friends!

As for me... well on Thursday I told you that I was off to see the movie "My Sister's Keeper". Now going into this move I was very very very excited!!! I had read the book and LOVED IT!!! I mean really loved it!!! It was the first book that I ever got to the end of it and though "Holly cow! I did NOT just read that!!!" I even flipped back the last chapter and read it again just to make sure what I thought happened - actually DID happen.

I begged my next door neighbor to go with me - explaining that YES it was going to be sad movie and yes she probable was going to cry - but the end - oh the end would totally make the movie worth it!!!

So off to the movies we went! And within the first five mins my friend was crying and continued to cry through out the WHOLE movie!! And I have to admit there were a few times when I was weepy myself! Now with any movie that you have read the book before the movie has come out - I found myself saying "That wasn't in the book", "That didn't happen in the book".... and then we get almost to the end....

I am sitting on the edge of my seat and...... THEY CHANGED THE ENDING!!!! I was sooooo ticked off when I left that movie!!! I mean I was MAD!!! Yep, they rewrote the whole ending so it just ended up being a sad movie!!! And it is that - a very sad movie - but hello!!!!! Grrr!! I am still mad about it!!!

My neighbor liked it even though when we walked out of the movie her eyes were all read and puffy and her nose was all stopped up.... and I guess since she hadn't read the book then she has no expectations - but for me.. it sucked!!!!

Thus, I will give the BOOK five stars! And the movie, well I think it would just be 1 star! And had I known that the had rewrote the ending and it was JUST a sad movie - I never would have gone!

Now on Saturday I went to movies again - this time with my friend Jules.... and we saw "The Proposal". I loved this movie!!! Now I really like Sandra Bullock - she is a home town girl who actually owns a house here on Tybee Beach - so you have to like her cause of that - but I also like her cause for the most part I have enjoyed her movies - and this one was no different! It's a chick flick - but I would have to give it four stars and I am glad I went to see it!

Other than that - not much happened this weekend! I did upload a new file to the Scrapbooking, Card and More membership. This was a really cool "Family Reunion" scrapping title.

You can use the title alone, the group of people alone - or you can put it all together like I did here!

If you would like to own this cutter file - it's not to late to join the membership! We are up to 17 downloads right now - and we still have three weeks left! To join, just go HERE!

Hmmm - the only other exciting thing is I actually started water aerobics this morning!!! It was raining when I first go up so I thought I was going to get out of the first class - but no it stopped in time! LOL All in all I think it is going to be interesting to see if this will help fuel my weight lost! I am determined so I hope it does!

Alrighty then, I think that is it for today! Hope you have a great Manic Monday and I need to get off here and go cut some files!

Until Next Time!
