Happy Election Day....

I hope you have gone out and casted your vote.... and if not - well get to it!!!!!

Don't forget in honor of today being the elections for our 44th President - Illeana, Jan and I are all offering you 44% off all our cutter files for today - and today only at Paperthreads!!!!! This sale will only go on until Midnight tonight EST so run on over there so you don't miss out!!!!

Yesterday I told you that I was going to share a new product with you that wasn't made for scrapping but oh the possibilities I see by adding it to my scrapbooking tool box!

As I think some of you know (from a past post) my mother in law had come to visit a few weeks ago and while she was here she shared the basics of quilting with me. (I think she is trying to turn me into a quilter!!!! I don't think she knows how bad my sewing skills are!!! Bahahahah!!!)

Well I decided to try my hand at a few squares for a project that she is helping with - and one of the things I had learned to do is "Fussy Cut".

Now for all you non quilters out there - "fussy cutting" is when you take a printed fabric and you cut out just the part of the print that you want to use. Well, having never cut quilting squares before - "fussy cutting" was pretty hard for me to do - UNTIL.....

I found the June Taylor "Get Squared" Ruler.

This ruler allows you to see what you are cutting out in the middle.

Additionally you can get perfect borders around an item cause you can see THOUGH the ruler!!!!

It is pretty cool! I also went to the June Tayor website and browsed through their products... man there is a lot of stuff here that you could use in your scrapping tool box!!!

And the best part?!?!?! I used my 40% off coupon at Joann's and I got my "Get Squared" ruler for less than $6!!!! How is that for a deal!?!?!? I got the 8.5" outside and 4.5" inside ruler but there is a several to chose from - there is even an 12.5" one.... man oh man!

So there you have it.... a tool that was created for quilting but is going to make an awesome addition to my scrapping kit!

Until Next Time! (Make sure you go VOTE!!!)
