Can't believe I am going....

... to go there!!!

Well today is going to be an interesting day here at Beloved Keepsakes Blog Spot... we have lots to talk about!!!

First up is a weather check.... Looks like TS Storm Hanna may do nothing but churn up the seas to the west of us!! (Whew!) Local officials stated that residents in my area can expect slightly higher tides, 2 to 4 inches of rain, and the possibility of 25 to 35 mph wind with gusts reaching 45 mph Friday evening.

So that is the good news..... Now the bad news is that we have Hurricane Ike - CAT 4 churning out there - and I have to tell you - it might be pretty iffy on him! Even if he was to take the same path that Hanna is taking - we would get a world of hurting from him cause he is a big bad storm!

I got pretty tickled at the "officials conference" this morning.... especially from a quote made by Congressmen Jack Kingston. He was quoted saying, “We’re only half way through the season and half way through the alphabet, we’ve got a long way to go.” So I will keep you posted!!!

Now on to the REAL subject of this blog post. You know my momma always told me there are three things you should never talk about with people... 1) their kids, 2) their religion, 3) their political beliefs.....

Well I never was very good at listening to my momma!! (Bahahaha!!!)

First and for most - one of the great thing about having a blog is... it is yours - you can write whatever you want to - about whatever you want to!!!! LOL (So all you haters out there - please keep that in mind. I mean this is my blog!!! LOL)

Second - I am a staunch Republican through and through! (Of course you probably already knew that - I mean - HEY I am a military wife!!!!) So now that you know that..... here we go!!!

I am a McCain fan. I voted for him during the Republican Candidate election - and I was planning on voting for him during the Presidential Elections. Then he named Palin as his Vice President choice..... Well, I have done a lot of research on Palin.... and last night hubby and I watched the Republican Convention - I really wanted to hear her speech..... and decide just for myself what I thought about her.

And can I just say....

The HECK with McCain - Let's vote PALIN for PRESIDENT!!!!

If you did not see the Palin acceptance speech last night - you can catch it here! It is 36 min long and I have to tell you it is really is worth watching (and make sure you watch for Palin's youngest daughter (Piper) fixing her baby son's (Trig) hair!! Hubby and I about peed in our pants laughing at that shot!!! There is no way that the world can not be endeared to that little girl and her little brother (who, oh by the way, has downs syndrome.)

Anyway... needless to say - the McCain/Palin team is the team for me.... and it got me to thinking that the 2008 Election will be an election that make history - no matter which side of the debate you are on.....

I mean you have Barack Hussein Obama (should he get elected) will be the first African American President. And then you have Sarah Palin to will be the first Women Vice President.... what a year!!! (Did you catch that phrase - WILL BE!!! Bahahahaha!!!)

So to celebrate the upcoming elections - and maybe even to remind you to get out there and VOTE...... I thought I would offer up the TRS File for you today!

This file will only be available for a limited time - once it is no longer available here - you will be able to purchase it at Paperthreads!

This would make a REALLY cute scrapbooking title to help document this monumental year.... No matter where your loyalties lie!! LOL

Sorry - file is no longer available for free download. You will be able to purchase it Paperthreads soon!

Well - I think that is it.... sorry to make you listen to my political views - but I hope the free TRS file will make up for it!!!

Until Next Time!

Cya~

Hi Lori,
It's so hard to get here first! Would you consider a random number? :) Hee hee.
Anyways I read OMAR is the O for 2008. Don't know anyone named Omar personally.

Hope you don't get to #15!! Wow can't believe I won!! If you DO get to 15 it will be Omar. I can't tell if anyone beat me to it Lori, but if I am first and if I am right then please choose someone else to get the free file - I am in the UK and may get to your blog first, so it is only fair to pass on this one. Stay dry and keep those pooches safe!!

Lori, once again I have to say you are my kind of woman!! Go girl!! The view of Palin's daughter 'fixin' the baby's hair with the spit on her hand was priceless. Talk about a down to earth family. I love it. I also love your presidential 'ad'. Can I use it too??? Pleeezzzz??? Thank you for the free file and the wonderful blog post to read today.

Well, Lori, I have to tell you I was raised as Democrat and it's not always been easy being married to a Republican but he's won--especially now. I'm voting for Palin and McCain as well.
