Mia... and I am afraid...

It seems like I am always apologizing for being MIA... and I am afraid this missing in action will gone on for a little longer!!!

First up - Hubby got a new job!!!  Whoooo hooooo!!!  It is still with the military (thank heavens!), but it is requiring us to relocate!!!  This has made us very sad as when we built this house six years ago we thought this was where we would grow old.  We never planned to move away from here... but Uncle Sam has a different idea and when called we must go.... so.... we must go!!!

We are being moved to the Atlanta area (UGH!!!)... We spent nine days up there last week trying to find a place to live.  Let me tell you that was a disastrous adventure!  On day three we found a house, signed the lease and low and behold I had forgotten my check book at my friends house so I could pay the deposit.

Well the curve at this house was kind of steep!  And I was concerned about my car being able to go over the driveway.  I was so worried about it - I didn't sleep all night.  So the next morning instead of going to pay the deposit check - hubby and I drove 5 1/2 hours home, switched out the jeep for the car and drove 5 1/2 hours back just to find out the car wouldn't go in the drive without scrapping!!! It was bad!!!  We tried every way you can imagine and I swear it sounded like the oil pan was being ripped out from under the car!!  Thankfully since I had left my check book, we had not paid the deposit and we were able to get out of the lease!!!

Finally after several several more days of searching we finally agreed on this house!!!!

Then we came back and we have been packing every since!!!

Now if moving was stressful and time consuming enough, we have airline tickets for the holidays and since one of our family members is having some health issues we don't want to cancel!!! Plus the tickets are nonrefundable!!! And to add to that, we are also trying to rent out our house!!!

Thus I will probably be MIA for at least a month if not until the end of the year!!!

Hopefully once we get completely moved and settled in I will be back into blogging and business 110% (The new house has a much bigger scrapping area than our house now!!!!)

I will be hit and miss for the next month - but please know I am wishing you all a very Happy Thanksgiving!!!  And please don't give up on me! I will be back!!!

Until Next Time!

Veterans Day...

A day set aside to remember and acknowledge the service, honor, bravery, duty and sacrifice for the greater good.  A day to remember those who have serve, who are serving and those who continue to serve so that we may enjoy the every day freedoms of our lives.

Being a military wife, I am sure you can understand that Veterans Day is very important to me.  So first up I want to say thank you to my husband.  Thank you for your patriotism, your bravery and your loyalty to your country.  Though I don't always understand it, I admire it greatly and know that I and everyone around me has a better life because you feel the call to protect us.

On this Veteran's Day I want to share with you an amazing book that I have discovered.  If you will recall about a year ago I was asked to review a book called "Faith Deployed - Daily Encouragement for Military Wives"  I was truly touched by this book and I have to tell you as a military wife this book has encouraged me over and over again.  (If you are a military wife I can not tell you enough that you NEED to get this book and read it daily!!!)

Well my friend Jocelyn Green has done it again...  This time she has co-written a book called "Battlefields and Blessings" (Stories of Faith and Courage from the war in Iraq and Afghanistan).

Now let me tell you this book isn't just for military families - this is a book is for anyone who is a patriot, it is for anyone who supports our troops, and it is for anyone who wants real first person honest accounts of how God can get you through ANYTHING ANYWHERE

While this book is written in the format to be a daily devotional going from day 1 to day 365, I have to tell you the worst thing I found about this book was that I had to have enough discipline not to read ahead or read more than one day at a time.  (Hmmm, maybe God is trying to teach me something even with that?!?)

The honest heartfelt perspectives and stories will touch you. They will remind you that EVEN in the middle of a War, in the middle of tragedy and loneliness, and even when facing your worst fears; God is always present.  He is walking beside you, he is down in the foxhole with you and you are NOT alone.

If the stories and personal recounts were not touching enough, each daily entry is backed up and supported with scripture from the Bible.  And each entry ends with a specific prayer thought, which I have to tell you, prompted me to be a more devoted prayer warrior.

After doing this daily devotional if you are not more proud to be an American, if you are not more touched at the sacrifices that our military make for our daily way of life and if you are not more grounded in your faith and belief in God... well I just don't think you have a heart!

Now while you can purchase this book at Amazon (both in paperback and also for your Kindle!!!) - and I truly think you should (and get a few for gifts while you are at it)... I am super duper excited to tell you that Jocelyn has been so generous that she has sent me a AUTOGRAPHED copy of the book to give away here on my blog!!!! Whooo hooooo!!!

Yep that's right - I have a signed, brand new copy of this book just waiting to be given away to one of you - my faithful blog readers!!!  So if you would like a chance to win this book - just leave me a comment in the comment section of today's post!  I will randomly draw a winner on Monday.

Remember - take time to today to thank a Veteran.  One small act or word of gratitude from you will provide a lifetime of encouragement and support for a military member!

Until Next Time!

MIA...

Yes... once again I have gone MIA....  not on purpose you understand.  It has just been crazy!!!!

First of all - have you heard the VDBC will be putting out the FIRST EVER "Holiday Gift Giving guide"???  Yep!  We all have been hard at work designing and putting together projects that you can give to your friends and family!!!  And as usual - I think I have bitten off more than I can chew!!! (Nothing new there!!!)  Bahahahha!!!

But since I haven't been around in a while - I will give you a sneak peek at one of the items I have designed for this event....

So....  what do you think??? I think it would make a great gift or holiuday decoration!!

Additionally - as you all know since hubby got back from Afghanistan his job was no longer available.  Thus we have been kind of on month to month orders.... Well hubby has an office call tomorrow for a job that would give us a little bit of a more stable life.  So please say a word, a prayer or a good thought that it goes well.  The only down side to this job is that we will have to move - and we both LOVE it here...  But if we have to, well we have to right?!?!  The other catch to that is that it will probably happen FAST.... so I guess we will see!!!

And lastly - please say prayers for my father in law - he will probably kill me when he reads this post - but ehhhh, who cares!!!  LOL  If you will recall last summer I went to AZ to visit for two weeks and ended up staying for two months when they found out he had cancer.  They did surgery then and though that they got it all.  But now it seems that the cancer has returned and as it seems right now the Doctors feel there isn't really anything that they can do about it.  So as I said please pray for him and for hubby's family period.  This is a difficult time for us all.

Ok - I have to get back to the grind.... in addition to finishing up my holiday gift giving designs - I have to head over and VOTE!!!!!  Have you voted yet today?!?!  If not get off your duff and get to it!!

I will try to post as much as I can - but it may be hit and miss as we see how things shake out!!

Until Next Time!
